ROOPKUND (SKELETON LAKE)
LOCATION : UTTARAKHAND , INDIA
Roopkund is a glacial lake in Uttarakhand state of India.This place is famous due to more than five hundred human skeleton found at the edge of the lake. So it is also known as Skeleton Lake. Roopkund is located in Himalaya at an altitude of about 5029 meters (16,499 feet).
It is located near the base of two Himalayan peak - Trisul (7120 meter) and Nandghungti (6310 meter). It is beautiful tourist destination in Himalayas , Journey to Roopkund is enjoyable experience.
